The DfE is clear that regular attendance at school and children's progress are inextricably linked. At NRPS, we expect all children to attend school every day unless due to illness they are unable to come in. Only the Head Teacher can authorise planned absence and this will normally be only in exceptional circumstances. A request must be submitted before the date of the requested absence.

Children (Reception - Year 6) are required by law to attend school as stated in the School Calendar. We encourage Playgroup, Pre Nursery & Nursery children to adhere to term dates as much as possible for consistency. The Government states that every pupil’s attendance should be at LEAST 95%
